I take a whole‑person approach, considering your physical health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and spiritual life. Together, we set clear goals, practice practical skills, and apply God’s Word as the foundation for meaningful, lasting change.

I work to create a safe, steady space where you can heal, grow, and strengthen your ability to face life’s challenges. When specialized r psychological care is needed, I will guide you toward a trusted proven pathway. Your confidentiality is always protected, and restoring your healthy thought life is my priority.

Dr. Will Cunningham is a U.S. Navy veteran who served in multiple conflicts, including extended work in Afghanistan and Iraq as a liaison to Special Forces and intelligence agencies. His military experience shaped his deep understanding of human behavior, resilience, and leadership under pressure.

Will completed ministry training at Calvary Chapel Bible College, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Montreat College, and holds a doctorate from Trident University. His post‑doctoral certifications include Wellness and Performance Psychology from Stanford School of Medicine and Positive Psychology from Harvard Health.

He is an advanced‑licensed Clinical Pastoral Christian Counselor specializing in Temperament therapy with credentials through the National Christian Counseling Association, and board‑certified by the International Board of Christian Pastoral Counselors. He is also a licensed Positive Psychology Coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation.

In 2016, he founded Asheville Christian Counseling & Absolute Counseling & Coaching to meet the growing needs of the community.

Pricing

Industry standard counseling rates for Western North Carolina are between $220-$250 per hour.

Asheville Christian Counseling goes below standard rates as a way to make counseling available to anyone regardless of budget. All sessions are a minimum of 1 hour in length. Phone sessions are available.

Sessions are $125 per hour.

In some cases, sliding scale options available based on income. 

Payment of fees is expected when services are rendered.

Cash, Credit card, Check, PayPal and Venmo are accepted.
